Incredibly old post. looking at replacing front speed sensor. looking for info on repacking hubs. Found this thread
can someone tell me if I am looking at doing ALL of this, or direct me to the section I should expect?
Thanks

IF you are just repacking your bearings....you will be skipping all the parts involving replacing the bearing races (assuming yours are still good). The write up (quite long and highly detailed) is correct....but the procedure is not as daunting or involved as it 'reads'.

part number?
Below are the part numbers for my 2008. Those are prices from PartSouq

Glad to find this thread as I think one of mine needs replaced.

Any of you guys getting the correct sensor location off a generic CEL scan, or do I need to mess with the newer techstream program?

I am not sure what a "CEL scan" is. I am getting the correct sensor from both Techstream and from two separate OBD scanners. The codes thrown are different for each wheel. Mine reports LF wheel.

"CEL scan" = Check Engine Light scan

@Blackwater It might work, but you'll have to make sure that your scanner can read chassis codes, not just powertrain codes. Not all do, techstream definitely does.

Had my CEL read, figured it was a wheel sensor with my VSC lights on the dash.

Here's what I'm getting, looks like a quick search online shows a 02 sensor.

Can anyone confirm which one needs replaced or possibly a P/N? I'll do some digging online

So my VSC, ABS, and TRAC lights went off. Checked all the resistance for the sensors and got 1 ohm for the front and 1.3 for the rear so I think the sensors are fine. Before taking to the mechanic I’d like to know what else should I checked so I have a better understanding of the problem so don’t get ripped off. Do you have any recommendations? 2001 LC w/ 160K miles. Thanks for all the help!
Was it 1 ohm, or was it showing a 1 because it was an open circuit? I'm trying to find out what is normal for the ohms.
Mine are reading 2.5k ohms on the front. I just replaced the front ones and that fixed my problem for a day or two, and now my VSC, ABS, and TRAC lights are on again (but not the brake light like last time).

Another thread revival: I had the ABS, VSC Trac, and VSC Off lights come on last weekend while driving through the mountains (scary having ATRAC engage at speed). Tried to pull the codes with a cheap bluetooth OBDII scanner but only had P0171 returned (hopefully O2 sensor, but that's another story). I managed to get someone to pull the ABS codes for me, which returned way more codes than I was expecting:

So I'm wondering if replacing both front wheel speed sensors will fix these codes or if it will be something slightly more involved. I'm going to try to remove the sensors and clean them first, before purchasing and replacing both with new sensors. Any thoughts on what might have caused these codes to appear under normal driving conditions?

Also, are the wheel speed sensors interchangeable between 98-02 and 03-07?

I have the same code, just instead of front mine is my rear passenger side wheel speed sensor. I think it is triggering the C1223 C1241 C1340 did fixing the wheel speed sensor clear these other codes. I have read this can trigger them since they are all sort of in the same family. Thanks!
