As an update to my last post, while I was initially impressed with the results I very quickly determined that something is fundamentally wrong. Output in the real world is pretty poor. After some playing around, bulb spacing is definitely the biggest contributing factor. There's effectively no room to install bulb spacers so the easy answer is to try a different set of bulbs that are hopefully rebased a little better...
But that's too easy! The next step is to follow @ed94r and install TSX projectors and proper D2S bulbs. I already have the projectors and will order up the rest of what I need over the Christmas break.
