I appreciate the links and I will certainly be viewing them. I will say after switching from my HF 90amp to a Hobart 140, well, the welder really was a lot of the problem. I also installed a dedicated circuit for the Hobart. It was such a big difference I actually went back and ground the welds from my seats and re welded with the Hob.
If you ever have any welding questions shoot me a pm I'd be happy to help if I can I live south of Olathe/Overland Park KS about 20 min

i used to have a lincoln 110v and a campbell hausfield 110v and they both sucked. best thing anyone can do is spend the money on a quality welder. went to a miller 220v and haven't looked back. now i want to weld...and you don't learn to weld unless you want to do it.

btw, thanks for the writeup and review on the seats...getting rid of the 4ton crap seats is next on my list.

I almost forgot, remember how I mentioned there were no female seatbelt buckles when I bought these seats ? Turns out you can just unbolt the OEM Toyota ones and bolt them right onto the Subaru seat. Do you see those two little tabs on the seatbelt buckle ? One of those needs to be ground off in order to fit up nice. Its easy to tell which one after you play with it a little. I was putting 04 WRX seats in my 80 untill I found that using the 80 series female buckle bolted to the WRX seat put the buckle at a harsh angle to the point it would not work.

Do you have any pictures where and how yours bolted on? I'm wondering if mine is different.

Did you grind off the tab like he mentioned? On my porsche seats, I had to bend the tab some to get the best angle. FYI.

i ground the tabs off when i tried subie wrx seats...unfortunately, they sit just a bit higher which you can work with when you have long legs, but for us short people just aint gonna work :( anybody in denver need some grey/black seats?

Yeah I ground the tabs off. Issue was the seat cushion pushes the buckle away from vertical in my case enough to intefear with the console on the passenger side.

I have all but given up getting the seats in the truck beard on this. I was really looking forward to some more support and comfort.

I'm 5'11” with a 30" in seam and they seemed to fee OK.

The bottom cushion of the WRX seat will push the female buckle out just like you say. On mine I was still able to get it in there. Occasionally it is difficult for my passengers to get the appropriate angle to click in, but once your used to it no big deal. If I get some time today I will try and grab a picture of it. It would be a shame to give up on those seats, they are wonderful and maybe the single best mod I've done to my rig.

i've got a 27" inseam, so i'm already almost to the dash. i just mocked them in on some wood blocks and it felt like i'd have to have the steering wheel all the way up bus driver style to not have the wheel in my lap.

Wow. I am 6'2" 33" inseam, Half K is about the same. I sat in his rig and they felt fine for length for me. Not sure why it would be any different for you @nuclearlemon

Another thought, on the celica seats, I think I used third row female sides or used some washers to space it out some. Don't know if that will help.

I have the same seats in mine and I believe we used washers as well. Although the lady did complain that the buckle was hard to latch at first, now she is used to it.

I'm buying these seats tonight. Come with sliders. Thanks

How is it getting over the side bolsters? How high are they? My wife = 5'1.75" in sneakers.

She already needs a running start to get in, adding a high hurdle to the mounting procedure might cause her to purchase a new Kate Spade bag or wor$e.

I did a variation of this using a heated power driver side and heated manual passenger side (not pictured) out of an 02 Outback. To adapt the stock subaru power slider you do need to build basic cross rails as the Subaru sliders are roughly 3" wider than the Toyota ones. Mine ended up being about an inch and a half taller than stock which is fine for me at 6'4 with a 36" inseam.
