How do you differentiate a '76 from a '78 Pig?

I am looking at two this weekend - a '76 and a '78. Is there an vehicle ID plate somewhere? Yes, I am ignorant like that either of these may be my first Pig and I have no other way of knowing other than taking the owners word for it....

left door jamb has the vin plate which will show the year. you can also take note of the vin number and look on the vin chart on the sor website. there's also a plate under the hood, but can't remember if that has year on it.

A '78 might have the long tall taillights...

Also, the '78 has rounded top front door corner and the '76 is more square like the older models.
