Im in the process of buying a house, and a few months ago I sold a 2001 Yamaha WR426F. It had a title and I signed it over to him and he was gone. Well, the lending company saw the amount go into my checking account, so they want to see a bill of sale. Anyone know how to find out the VIN so I can make up a bill of sale? I had a license plate for it, 01BL RV, and I tried going to servicearizona and it doesn't come up. If I can't figure out something tonight, maybe they still have it on record at the bike shop, but that was 13 years ago. Any ideas?

I would just walk into a DMV office and explain it to them. See if they can help you out. This situation is unique enough that I would not expect a solution available on line. John

Yeah man I very recently went through this process. Actually happened with both my houses I bought.

I had sold a car and a lot of stuff on paypal. They wanted detailed descriptions and proof of everything I sold. Despite having more than enough money in the bank they basically said none of it counts because they couldn't verify it.

Any ways I had sold a Harley I had and got away with just a typed up bill of sale. Obviously different lenders are going to want different stuff but figured I'd come in.

I ended up having to give a family member money to wire transfer into my bank as a "gift" from them. The whole process is stupid but I guess is to make sure the seller didn't give you money to put in your account so you would get approved for the loan

the whole process is a load of bs. I found the vin# on a renters insurance form by the way.

On the contrary
Lowest interest rate and prices in years. 2009-10 was a great year for buyers but it is still good if you know what to look for.
