I don't have any particular for the hood strut replacement but I've bought some hydraulic stuff for other applications from a brand call Suspa. I believe I selected length and weight ratings and they've held up good but I know that hood is so damn heavy . Let us know if you find any other alternativesBumping this zombie thread. When I got my LX 470 a few years ago the hood struts needed to be replaced. I ordered the StrongArm 4361's since they seemed like a good value proposition.Yet after installing them, I always felt like they were weak and too short. I kept them anyway. Fast forward to today, and I can barely keep the hood up on flat ground. Overall, disappointed in the StrongArms, I will not buy those again.
The original Toyota ones are $100 a piece, which is hilarious. My cheap Amazon "A-Premium" brand rear hatch struts are still great after the same amount of time.
How are all of your hood struts holding up? I have to order something pretty soon or I won't be able to work on my car without a 2x4.
Any longer term update on how long the A-Premium amazon ones are lasting?
