my 45LPB has some PO made pads.........made em out of an old fan belt......they work great.....look great and Honk even says they taste great :D

They're a wearing item. The hood moves around a lot or it's that the bib and fenders flex a lot.
The screw on side ones will stay put but the bib ones are only OK if you stay on the boulevards and avenues, like landpimp :). They tend to disapear otherwise.
There's lots of materials out there to make ones that are thicker, tougher, and even screw on for the bib, or a person could get real energetic and make a seal to go all the way around and keep that hood standing up proud.

You've got to have good holddowns with the spring action still working.

now that is the best home made idea listed thus far. better than radiator hose (which has a slight curve to it) and inner tube (which is too thin) - fan belt is a good thickness and flat and strong. I will likely use that idea as I said earlier, mine are a wearing thin and cracking apart (I even have one super-glued together).
