Finished venting my hood, wanted to get this done before Surf N Turf but decided to wait. Sorry for the quality these are taken with my cell phone.

Where did you get the vents?

looks sick man. good job

nice!

I'm thinking that if I ever do that, I'd buy a spare set of the louvers just in case. Having done the rather permanent cutting, I'd want to make sure I could find / would have the exact same dimensions units some years down the line.

Why did you need vents?
I tow a 24ft. travel trailer during the summer and going over the grade gets my under hood temps pretty hot. So basically I'm going to add whatever as long as it helps keep things cooler.

Looks great! I'm still hoping one of these days someone will provide before and after data so we can see what kind of a difference this mod can make. I'm certain it helps evacuate hot air but I'm curious about the data.

Looks awesome, can you show pictures of the underside?

Looks great. Drive up north and help a few brothers out.

That or we could all meet in the middle?

Looks great, BTW! Did you coat/protect the exposed metal edges of the cut hood with anything?

Thanks!

Yes I sprayed some white rustoleum non-gloss on all the edges and holes. I will post some pics when I get the chance. I did a temporary mount of the louvers until I get the time to do it cleaner, but for now its holding up.

Cool, thanks!

I've been searching the eBays occasionally for the vents...all sorts appearing put not those Pontiac specific ones. They'll come around eventually. That, or I'll hit a PnP after the holidays.

Does anyone know the Pontiac part number? I can't find these in eBay so I
Might just order from the dealership.

Absolutely! That is great you can move your travel trailer at all. Looks like twice the size of your 80.

I believe someone did post temp differences using the vents in another thread. Search "vented hood" in the title search in the 80 forum. I think its in there.
