Well I finally got around to jiggering up my cable contraption. Heres what I came up with.
Carb end. Welded a piece of an extra choke cable bracket to my choke bracket.
Fire wall end. Stock plastic bracket was broken so I used it and a piece of uhmw with a barrel adjuster threaded in.
Seems to work pretty mint....

If you need to route a cable at the carb end at a 90* angle , look into a stock Suzuki Samurai throttle cable from '85-'89 pre-injected models . That cable has a nice solid 90* tube to guide the cable and can easily be adapted to almost anything .

Thanks Sarge... Always good to hear about options. 
Oh , forgot to add - firewall end of that Suzuki cable is a snap-in type , so some type of filler plate will need to be made . There are a couple of older Toyota cables that are similar to the Suzuki but can't remember the actual application , maybe first gen mini-trucks ? I got all this from years of adapting Weber carbs to different vehicles . Worst one to deal with is the Cruiser and it's crazy tight firewall clearance .
