Heres some pics of the turbo setup...its a Denco kit, but the turbo itself is a Shwitzer (check spelling).

At the moment its set to 8psi, and to run at 550 celcius. So far in normal driving I havent come close to reach that temp...so she is good to go when I really have to drive her. It also runs 35" tyres on road, and the turbo has no problems turning them.

That front bumper looks pretty great. Did you build it yourself?

Is this an auto or a standard? What gears do you have in the axles?

The front bar was made by the same good mateof mine who also did the chop and made the tray and sidesteps (Dale from 2Dxtreme).

5 speed manual and currently running stock diff gears...Been thinking og going to 4.88 or something similar but I honestly dont think I need to now.

Why do this and not just buy a 40...WHY NOT! Looks great, wheels well. And 40s are just as ugly as 60 wagons.

Where do you find or buy your exhaust manifold . ? BTW thanks for the pics .. looks really great !

You are running 4.11 or 3.70 .. ?

DUDE! SOMEONE STOLE HALF YOUR CRUISER!!

Ok, sorry had to say it, guess I didn't see it the first time around.
That thing looks nice!!

Not sure if you still have a space problem but I've hosted several cruisers on my site and just sent the links to the owners so they could post the pics. I normally just make them good res 800x600s.

Very nice job.

I did not look at where this truck was located but had a idea there was some australian influence. I think it looks sharp. But what are your long term ambitions with this mod? Its definatly not for hauling alot of things on your expiditions. Never less looks great and I cannot wait to do my own body work.

The exhaust manifold came part of the kit...straight out of the box...and bolt on! TOO EASY! Still running the 4.11 diff gears.

Its basically now just a toy...it was my daily driver, but I have access to a 02 dualcab hilux during the days now...so this thing just sits in my driveway waiting for the next time the hubs are locked!:bounce: :bounce:

To each their own, but I say it's a tragedy. Why not just by a 40...a lot less trimming.

60=longer wheel base, chop=less overhang.

60s are one of the best looking wagons ever, and chopping one only increases the cool factor...

I wouldn't dream of doing that to mine!

I don't have the skills!

Great job, very cool rig!

Very nice work you have done, but it still hurts to see a HJ in THAT good shape cut up to look something like a old Nissan Patrol. But it must be GREAT off road now

I just try to figure how I can do this kind of exhaust manifold cheap .. :D

did you have pics of the kit outside of the box . ?

Well, I know exactly what to do to my cruiser if a tree ever smashes the back half, until then my dog needs somewhere to ride

Sorry mate, but I was too keen to get the turbo fitted...didnt bother taking pics of the turbo kit out of the box...afterall...its not going to make the driveway go quicker ;) ;)

Let me get my torbu kit in my hand and maybe I can talk about it ..

sweet rig man, come build me one in WA lol... How did you go with getting it through pits and licenecd????

Got it engineered with no problems at all...I took a heap of pics during the mod so the engineer could see how everything was done and what was used.

i have a few questions....probably stupid questions but questions none the less......did you have to move the gas tank??

Was this project basically self contained(meaning basically everything you used to build it were other parts off of the discarded part) besides the panel to fill the void below the rear window and the supplies to build the rear tray??

Thanks

Each TLC is a classic. That being said, each has an owner. No matter how much we anthropomorphize them, they are machines and are built to serve. This talented bloke felt a chop would serve his needs better and DID one hell of an amazing job doing it. I quesiton the final color, but in all other regards, the only thing missing on this new HJ is a big ol' set of bronze gonads swinging from the hitch.

Celebrate the diversity! Be jealous of the mad skills.
