Hi there, thought I'd start a thread about my 45, which I picked up from a farm. Body was way worse than I expected, so far chassis looks like it will be ok.

Just about everything with oil in it is leaking but it was driven on the the truck and the engine was running. So far I have a replacement tub, rear window, front window and a guard to use in the rebuild.

I'm concentrating on the tear down at the moment before doing anything else.

Planning to get everything off and get the frame sorted.

Current thoughts are to fit 60 series discs and power steering. I'm not sure what to do engine wise yet, the H is apparently running, so I may just keep it for starters. Also like to do a 5 speed too.

They might have been doing a bit of fishing on the coast with it too (apart from just using it on the farm) judging from the rust streaks.

Welcome.... :)

It's pretty minor, just some rusted out bits on the lip and in the floor. I will cut areas out of the blue tub. The front window I have is mint, but the rear also needs some minor restoration work. Just need to save for the welder while I keep stripping.

I'm also tossing up shortening the chassis back to the spring hangar and I need to decide what to finish the chassis with, lots of conflicting views it seems

Well it's over a year but I've made some progress

FJ62 donor
5 speed
350 chev (Conrod through block )
Power steering
Disk brakes
Steering column
Various other bits

Thanks for the link!...I think I'll grab a set of those engine mount brackets, looks like they work nicely.
Is your Cruiser a 1980 model?
