Hi everyone,

In a circumstance like this, is there a safe way to make a purchase where I'm guaranteed to receive the LC? Has anyone found a way to guarantee this like a COD option or something; escrow?

Daito,

Mate I can understand your concern you are going to get what you see but if you want I can arrange an independent inspection of the LC through NRMA National Roads and Motorists' Association the company is operating in Australia since 1920s.

An independent inspection through NRMA is about $300 and I am happy to half on that.

Or you can get in touch with Aus to Usa and they can do an inspection .

I took the risk on the 5 I bought (from AU$3k to $10)--wired the money to the seller (one a dealer, 4 individuals) and worked with them to get the rig delivered to port. All the Aussies I dealt with were great. I used two different RORO shippers (roll-on, roll-off) to Long Beach since it's closest port to me. The shippers took care of export and I had a broker in LA do import for me. I picked up the first 2 at port, then went to hiring a transport. I think I spent close to $4k door to door for each, but that was 3 years ago. I'd seriously look at hiring AusToUSA if I bought another since they seem like good guys and are helping keep the cruisers coming.
