Picked up some morimoto led fogs
As the tjm fog housing was carcked to hell i ripped that off and picked up a steel sheet to fab out a blanking plate / mount. But the only steel i found was 2mm.

The plated mounted

Good thing i got extra pieces, burnt out a drill, screwed up a hole saw, then decided to go crazy with a drill and cut it out with a hack saw.

That ended up as a failure so i went down to a machine shop and got them to do it up properly.
20150207_225435.webp

Had some spacers welded on to keep the fogs flush with the plate.

I'll get the plates painted tomorrow and sort out the wiring as the now ex tjm distributor hacked up the oem wiring when he installed the bumper

Initial test fit showed that the lights were angled too far out, the machine shop used the right fog light on the left plate, quite difficult to mess up when i told them which goes where and engraved (R) & (L) on each plate as well as worte it with a permanent marker. Fogs have RH & LH on them

Removed the tube spacers from the plates. Used 2 of them and stacked a few washers on the other side to get the lights proper and as straight as i can and painted the plate up

Tried to adjust the lights but will check again in an open area and get them leveled out

All done

And of course a shower is needed

I dont know if anyone else has said this but I am jealous of the car wash there. Something like this would be amazing in the salt belt here to help keep cancer aka rust from starting so bad. New business model. LOL.

Candle-lit steak dinner in the desert for valentines day, had a nice fire going and sat under the stars.

Swapped out the roller fairlead for a hawse.
20150224_132752.webp

It sat too far in the bumper so made a spacer and got some longer bolts.

Rope clears the bumper in all directions :)

Love your rig Desert Nomad, a true inspiration for me. :)
Thanks :) it was a slow build-up to keep everything functional, other than finding a cargo drawer system and installing a shift kit it probably won't need any more mods for a long time.

I like the fact that you had a candle-lit dinner under the stars for valentines day. I guess that is a MAJOR plus on the 200 series; it has brawn and beauty. Not that the other series lack it but I am just saying since indeed it is the most luxurious LC to date. :)
I too one day hope to use my LC for a dinner under the stars. :)

What does every good dog owner do when you take your pups out to the desert???

Get ice, a bowl of water, some toys for them to play with, treats are a must and of course... tell them to bugger off while you spend the next 2 hours adjusting your roof lights :hillbilly::wrench:

It's a knock-off chinese mesh grill and stuck on an fj60 grill badge. I had it dremelled down where the badge would sit so it would sit flush with the grill
