Only the low speed wipers work on my 77 fj40. When ohming the high speed winding in the motor it tests good (ohmed solid blue wire to blue/red wire). When ohming the switch itself the low speed tests bad when low speed works (ohmed LW to WB) but when I ohm the high speed on the switch it tests good (ohmed LR to WB). The only thing i haven't ohmed is the high speed wire itself. Anybody know what's going on?

I would say take the motor apart and clean/lube it. Brushes could be weak/worn, comutator dirty. Take the switch apart clean the contacts. There are threads covering these topics.

Clean the contacts in your fuse box after removing the battery neg terminal.

Sometimes the switch contacts get dirty. B4 doing anything I'd try cycling the switch in and out a bunch of times and see if you can coax them to work. This practice can be effective on most all the 40 switches. Lately my headlight switch has been acting up.

iir correctly the wiper circuit is wired differently, I think the motor has 12v power when the key is on and the switch grounds the circuit to activate the wipers. You might want to look at the wiring diagram.

Has it worked properly recently?

Did you change anything in that connector?

Pull every plug apart, clean the contacts. Use a qtip to apply a thin coating of dielectric grease. Try and look at the crimp connection on the wires - corrosion can crawl under the insulation rendering it useless.

Use like a 30 cal bore brush to clean the clips in the fuse box. There are connection on the back side too. Test each fuse - old ones can look good but the wire disconnected at the inside the metal cap. Have some spare fuse. I keep a fuse puller/tester and spare fuses in old cci plastic boxes in the glove box. I have extra dome, marker, brake, turn signal in boxes

I've never seen the high speed wipers work and I haven't changed anything in the connector
Check the wiring across the connector to make sure they are correct across the connector.

Refer to the link above, read the section on Toyota Wiring Mystery.

Just to rule that connection out.

High speed is back working. I cleaned every electrical contact in the wiper circuit. I also completely disassembled the motor and gearbox. I found that the spring for the high speed brush fell under the brush and wasn't letting it make a strong enough contact to the commutator. I also put new grease in the gearbox.
