High lift jacks in 80

The liftmate look a great idea. The High-lift site does not appear to sell it nor does it point to dealers. Seems I could easily make one from heavy chain with all the strength needed.
 
in a pinch I would think the hitch receiver would do too...

One thing I've noticed as you get a higher suspension lift that also has more travel - especially down - that the hi-lift on the sliders/bumpers lifts the body but the suspension just flexes out making it really difficult to actually raise a wheel.

That does make the "wheel mate" thingy above seem like a better option, but as many have identified previously, often you're better off with the OEM or hydraulic style bottle jack under the axle to accomplish this. It is typically a lot safer. Maybe you'll get dirtier, take more time, but it really does work.

I agree.

I currently have a 4" lift again and previously had a 2" lift and in both cases it took the devil and a couple of demons to do a bumper jack thing with the High Lift especially on my front bullbar simply because I fairly well exausted the length of the High Lift trying to get the tires to clear the ground.

I've since seen a friend fit a fork like contraption to the side of his ride and use the High Lift there. I'll probably try to adapt the design for the cruiser some time in the future, but in the meantime, my mechanical bottle jack does serve very well so there is no urgency for me.

I like the botttle jack too, which is why whenever someone complains about it, I offer to take it off their hands. No question for tire changing it is the way to go.

That Lift-Mate looks great for most of the times you actually need a hi-lift. Flat tires occur, but are not that common, last year I had only 1 for instance. On the other hand, I jacked up to free a wheel several times.

I like the chain idea for copying the Lift-Mate design-a winter project.
 
and you can always tie the axle to the frame and then need to lift the frame only a little bit...
 
I like bottle jacks too but they are never tall enough. Always need to prop them up with rock and stuff that get unstable.

After I built by carport I had scrap 4x8 and 2x8 lumber. I have found that they work really well as jack suports.

Good reason to always have 2 four-by-four, bout a foot long in yer truck.

I do....also makes larger foot for lifts in good ol Fla sugar sand.
