I am in need of parts (specifically a radiator) for a Prado LJ78, 2L-TE engine and was wondering if the collective wisdom here has any suggestions. I am currently in the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean, so air shipping would be necessary. A U.K or Canadian source would likely be easiest. Do you folks have a favorite?

i would STRONGLY recommend getting the one you have recored to 3 X 3/4 tubes for max cooling...
about $650 is what i paid...

Klaus, Is there any one there that recores radiators??
If there is it might be a better thing to do than trying to ship a new one.

Two minutes apart Wayne.
Cheers buddy.

I paid about the same..give or take a few dollars..Canadian that is.

It's a small island and they are on "Island Time" so it could be a long wait if I can even find someone to do it. I'll look into it, though. It will also be about $1000 U.S. for Island markup, which is what some locals quoted me for a new one. Where do you guys buy your parts?

Another question is how do I figure out the year. Everything is in Japanese, and I couldn't find any indication of year. It is an EX. Are they (the 2L-TE) all the same? Looks like the early 90s version. Are there characteristics that would allow me to figure out the year? The only numbers I could find are on the plate on the firewall that says Q-LJ78W-PGT.

on the right frame rail there is the serial number stamped on the side. post it and we can give you the month and year of production...

If our government had been thinking, your islands would now be the 10th province...alas...small minds.

I'm wondering if your best source for parts is not southwest of you in central america...we have members in Panama with lots of knowledge and contacts (hey you guys speak up!!)
