Question - What is the largest size tire that can fit underneath in the stock spare tire location.

I fit 285-75-16's Goodyear wrangler duratracs in the stock location.

Taller and skinnier. More sidewall with less width. Should be fine, several people running that size here IIRC.

My next size will be a 275/70r18. Taller with more sidewall, skinnier for better low-pressure patch, what's not to like? :)

It'be cool if someone would make a slightly taller 275/75r18, alas that would make too much sense and not appease the masses who think wide tires, juvenile tread patterns, and super-duty plies make a good tire. :grinpimp:

hmmmm. Well my tires are starting to really get angry with me...they would rather stay on the road then on the wheel so im loosing tread quickly. Maybe ill upsize to a 33 and see how that is, if not ill just put my other set of wheels back on with the stock LTX's.

So funny to read Loud talking about upsizing to a 33... Then I looked at the posted date (2007)...

Nice bump.

At the tire shop now trying to get new shoes put on and they swear up and down that 285/75/16s will not fit. I am looking at the Hancook Dynapro AFT R10, do the t bars have to be cranked for this size tire? Other wise guess I will be going with 265 duratrack.

I have 285/75/16's BFG's on my stock 100 and they fit fine!

They fit, don't settle, you can take your purchase to just about anywhere you want.

Thanks guys,

Got the tire guy to install the size I wanted, he was amazed that it would take that tire stock. He assured me, before I talked him into at least trying it, that 285/75/16s would not fit without a lift. Once installed he was quite impressed with them. I chose to go with the Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10, seems like a great tire from what I have read. If anything its awesome to get thoes twinkies off the PO put on! Will post pics soon dumping the snow out!:D

It's amazing how many tire shops won't even TRY to fit the tires that you want, in the size that you want, on your vehicle. That's why I love discount tire. Not always the cheapest, but they price match pretty much anything and you get free rotations for the life of the tires...and they will cram whatever size you want onto your car, whether they think it will fit or not (within reason, of course).

Here are a couple quick shots after I finally got the tire put on I wanted. I had the wheels powder coated last week, next week the running boards come off! Here is a before and after since I bought the rig.

What a difference some wheels and tires make...glad to see that you ditched the bling bling dubs. ;)

Awesome transformation...glad to see that you ditched the bling bling dubs. ;)

Thanks, know anyone who needs a set not sure what to do with them. They rode like something gawd awful too, now I dont feel every crack in the road.

Eh, not too many people (read: nobody) on mud would want them, I don't think.

Throw them up on craigs for $500 and see what happens. Theres always someone on there looking for bling. The problem is that the bolt pattern is a little rare (5x150 isn't all that common).

I have the same issue. I am trying to sell some bling 18'' rims and have had no success in over two months. Our bolt pattern makes it very hard. The only really other vehicle that fits these rims is 2007 + tundra.
