Thanks-I think one of the aspects of getting new wheels is that my wife doesn't want me spending a half day taking the current ones off, pulling the plasti-dip, prepping and then doing multiple coats.

Fine by me! That's not my idea of a fun Saturday either--I could spend that time wheelin! Besides, I already spend enough time undoing the dirt and damage wrought by my off-roaring habit. One less thing to worry about.

So I'm definitely going to make the switch. The OEM have served me well. Time for something I can use my pressure washer on.

Why not just get the OEM's powder coated? There are a lot of guys that will do them for $100 each including matching the center caps. I work at a Toyota dealership and we do 4Runner and Tundra wheels all of the time just to change things up in the showroom. Much more durable. Thinking of doing my 200 when it's time for tires.

I looked into that option before I plasti-dipped. I got frustrated after calling a few shops and then telling me they would not remove the wheels and powder coat-they needed me to bring them just the wheels with no tires.

I talked to at least 3 local Denver area shops that all told me I had to bring them only the wheels. Logistically, that was just too big of a pain in the ass, so I plastic-dipped.

I haven't asked my local Toyota dealership-it never occurred to me that they might do that too. I actually would consider that route. On the other hand, if I'm going to spend any money on wheels I'd rather spend what I need to to get the perfect look (for me).

If I ever went back to 18s I would get these in a heartbeat. Lightweight and hub centric not to be confused with lug centric. Will be releasing in that size soon so just hold out for these. Anyone interested in my RW, 34" KO2 and spidertrax....

FYI, I traded a few emails with SCS (Vin is very helpful/responsive) and found out the SR8 wheels 18x9 +25mm offset 5x150 will be available late Dec 2016 / early Jan 2017. I'm waiting to hear back on the weight & price, but figured I'd share this bit of info... (The 17x8.5 lists for $185 and weighs 24lbs FWIW)

Edit: weight will be 27 ~ 27.5 lbs. Price TBD.
