So... Apparently I had double the votes of anyone. 120 Total. And the votes didn't matter. Frustrating.

Well, that is some bullshat right there and if that's how they are going to treat folks then I will make sure I steer clear of them. That's just not good business....

I can definitely say that their customer service is much better than this situation represents. And I have a dang good winch in my bumper from them. But, I feel like I won anyways because...

I ordered two 50' synthetic 1/2" winchline extensions from them a couple of months ago. The price on their website was $32.99. I thought, "That can't be right!", but ordered them anyway. After about a month, they showed up on my doorstep. I checked the website again and the price had been corrected... $329.99! I got a 90% discount! I win!

Well, it sounds like you did alright on that deal, but still doesn't even begin to snatching a win out of your hands here. If the peeps votes don't matter, then why even offer to let people vote? Wait, is this the gubment....

did the rules say the the judges determine the winner?

My guess is that was in the fine print. The contest is over so you can't look at the rules of entry anymore, but my guess is it was an "Enter for a chance to win" kinda thing, and the fine print said they could do whoever they wanted, regardless of the voting results.... you know, just like our elected "representatives"

sometimes the fine print is the killer

I read the rules before entering (because I'm that guy.) From what I remember, it said that the votes were to "help influence the judges". I guess the votes weren't much influence.
Like another friend said... I won the popular vote, but not the electoral college.

That's just ridiculous! They know you was the winner. One of the judges probably had a rig entered lol.

They just couldn't stand the idea of the few times the winning pics is going to be used in advertising not being a jeep, much less a vehicle most don't see as off road worthy in the first place. A Tacoma might have had a chance.

I think you're right, Jason. If it had been a Jeep I could have won. But, I wouldn't have received as many votes, would I? Toyota for the win!

I saw where they "congratulated" the winner and I am so tempted to comment on the post. No offense to the guy who won, but I just think that everyone should know that the contest was a farce and that next time they want to run a contest, they should ask for submissions and not allow people to vote since that clearly didn't have any weight in the final decision.

It sounds like you are settled on the issue, but that just chaps my a$$. Heck I would have been ok if they had said, this is the photo WE selected, but we would like to congratulate Mr. Murphy for garnering the most votes as the peoples choice....

Ok, I am done with it and will let it go.

Ok, one last thing. I just looked again and they gave away 3 different prizes in 3 different categories and you didn't get any of them, all of them were HEEPS... Ok, that pretty much does it for me. VERY not cool of them...

I'm right there with you, Matt. I was really hoping to win that GoPro. Like you said, they were all heeps. And the one that won best "action shot"... Really? It wasn't even a good photo.
