Yes, the shocks are subjective as well as the t-bars. If you like Bilstein better then go with those. As far as the t-bars go, I would change to the OME even without the lift. The factory ones are just too soft in my opinion. I hate how the nose of a 100 dives down when braking. Its like riding in a Lincoln towncar or something. The OME t-bars and rear coils make the suspension so much more sporty.

Great point and very true but seems like his wife wants to keep the more "soft" ride.

I, like you, am a salesperson and am often called out for misstating facts.

But hey, why let the truth get in the way of a good story, right ;)

I get stuck "between similar threads" sometimes. I'll post something on one thread thinking it was another then have everyone confused. :D Must be my age?

Thanks guys for the help... I love this board.
I don't do Moab like stuff but like I have stated on other threads we do expedition style trips all the time this week we are going to southern Mexico a 12+hr trip one way. I could have used the extra 2" of lift last night in northern Mexico it flooded and hailed we were out eating when all hades broke loose and the streets were wiped out in places made it home but on the way had to get through water in 2 places up to the door sills! Fun stuff! Anyway we are on highways a lot to get somewhere and then we get off of the beaten path and end up in all sorts of cool spots. Mostly mountain trails and lots and lots of dirt and gravel, some dried river beds etc.

My wife loves lifted trucks but after my last 6" lifted Diesel Excursion she is not a fan of the ride that often comes with them. And since my back is not great I like the factory ride it is great for long streches of open road.
So correct the following if you think I need to...
1. 33" Nitto TG 295/75/16's
2. So I think I will crank the front t-bars like everyone has said. TJM bumper won't happen for another year anyway.
3. Go with 863's
4. Get OME shocks since if I understand everyone Bilistein are not available for a 2" lift and stock length will not work???
5. Diff drop.

This should help get the rear off the bumpstops right? Because right now with my wife and 2 friends and all our gear this thing is like a pogo stick in the back...
Plus it will keep the ride comfy... what do you think...

863? That's STIFF.....but, you just said you now have a pogo stick back there? With 865 (the cush spring) you'll pogo then too. So, 863 might be better. Without a bumper though it'll be stiff, FYI.

Without a heavier aftermarket rear bumper and/or significant load over/on the rear of your rig the 863's are probably going to lift more than 2". You may want to stay with 865's which worked great for me until I put the rear bumper on (but I did have the loaded AO drawers with the 865's).

oops my bad i meant 865's they are progressive right?

What about rear OME shock and front Bilstein since from what I have heard the front OME are the same length as stock anyway?

866's are progressive, not the 865's. The 865's are 220 lb. linear springs. The 866's and the 863's are too stiff for someone wanting to keep a "close to stock" ride. The 865's should work great and give just about 2 inches, maybe a little less. Go here for a table on OME springs. http://www.cruiseroutfitters.com/tech_OME_coils.html

sub,

I just installed the 865 springs. They are a nice upgrade from the stock springs. I think I got about 1.5" from them.

I'll probably upgrade to the 866 eventually, as the load weight increases, but for now the 865 is great.

The OME shocks are probably very similar quality wise as the Bilstein HDs' but if you are going to off road then just go with the OME because you give up some travel with the Bilsteins. The Bilsteins would be great for a stock upgrade on a mall wheeler.

Personally, I like the ride from the stiffer OME torsion bars. The vehicle corners much better with the new springs. I would just get the whole package OME package and not crank the front up too much.

At this point there really isn't a better bolt-in solution to the OME stuff.

Yeah... OME is (sadly) one of the only real options for a 100 that is lifted and used offroad :frown: but I guess we should all be glad there`s at least SOMETHING available

BTW...If you keep building that rig of yours you will be suprised how quickly you "outgrow" those 865`s Cal.

umm...I say that because my LATEST springs are now on their way (864`s) I guess I am SOL if I overload those suckers, eh ? ...Sheesh !

OK OME shocks it is then...

I guess that means I will owe you some shipping money pretty soon huh? ;)

I guess that means you still want em ? ;)

Thats funny, you beat me to it... I was gonna PM you today to let ya know that I should have them on their way to you (hopefully) by next weekend.

I AM KINDA SCARED OF THESE 864`S !
These suckers stand higher than my knee, and are notably thicker than the 866...I think its time to start adding weight to the back ( not MY back, my 100`s ) !
