Can someone help me identify what these are and where they go? Also looks like I’m missing a small piece on one end of the chain. If it’s critical maybe a direction on where to find it would be great. For reference 1969 FJ40.

Thanks!

Yes that the drivers rear seat lock, there are 2 buckles on the front - remove undo both and pull seat towards door - and you can lift it out

Rear drivers seat brackets. The seat frame has dowel pins that slide in the larger hole, then the pin on the chain drops in the holes of the seat frame dowel pin to keep the seat in place. My 72 40 with bench seats had them.

Love this forum! Would these have been painted the pewter gray or the same as the body?

Thank you!

Anyone have another pin?

Mine are pewter and I only have the pin in the one by the door. Make one to match the pin you have
they show the bracket with a #52, they also show the pin and chain but no number

Interesting the diagram I looked at online doesn't even show the bracket. But the chain is there. Called a stopper. Part number is 71301-90300. Full subscription of the piece 71312 - STOPPER SUB-ASSY, SEAT HINGE SHAFT. Only shows 4/71-9/72. Seen some of these with simple bent piece of round steel not a cast piece. Of course it is no longer available.

Personally I would use a heavy cotter pin that wouldn't fall out in a roll over. Safety features were different in 1963 when the easy removable driver seat started.

You find a pin? I have a matching one. The earlier ones like yours are cooler.
