HDJ81, Nitro 4.56 gears, Eaton Elockers (front locker is 14211-1)
Long story short, I blew up the cage of the LH birf. Disassembled everything, took out the axle and took off the knuckle, and found this in the axle housing behind the seal (had to cut it to get it out - in retrospect maybe I shouldn't have):
OD is about 56 mm, ID is between 32 and 36 mm, about 3 mm thick,
It must be part of the elocker assembly, for the life of me I can't figure from Eaton's website what part it is. They don't seem to have a detailed parts diagram or parts list for the locker, or even detailed installation instructions. I have to say that the part does look OEM, but I can't find it in any part list or FSM.
I look inside the axle reveals fairly normal looking bearing adjust nut.
I know I have to pull the diff, but I would still like to know in advance what this part is and how badly I am f...d
UPDATE: I know now that it's the indexing ring and I should not have cut and pulled it out, but reseated and tacked in place. Crap
