Ive got a 1993 LC, standard 4.5L gas engine. Wondering if some helpful members could chime in with the locations of the coolant temp sensors and incoming air temp sensors, if applicable?

I have a hard start issue when the weather is below 70 degrees F. I was advised to check these sensors.

70 degrees F. and the engine will start fine. 65 degrees F and it is extremely hard to start.

Looks like this is it?

There are actually two coolant temp sensors. One goes to the gauge in the instrument panel, and the other one sends a signal to the ECM. The one in your picture goes to instrument gauge. The other one is located on the opposite side of the engine down by the thermostat housing. The testing procedure for both are in the FSM.

AWESOME INFO. THANK YOU! I WILL TEST THIS ASAP.

Do this and never look back:
Koso slim water temp gauge install
It's accurate and there is a spot that looks like it was made for it.
Gauranteed more accurate than your dash gauge.

Put a "Max Temp" Sticker on Screen so everyone doesn't think it's just a #

Amazon has the sensors but make sure you get one in Faranheit or Celcius whichever you prefer or

Any good video/tutorial on swapping the sensor that goes to the ECM? I have an issue where the idle speed goes up the warmer the engine gets and I am thinking this is a good place to start. Thoughts?

These appear to be the two senders:
  1. 89422 - SENSOR, WATER TEMPERATURE (FOR E.F.I.) - 89422-35010
  2. 83420 - GAGE ASSY, WATER TEMPERATURE SENDER - 83420-16040
I was able to find them both in the EWD, but only the EFI sensor has a resistance graph (that I can find). Does anyone know how these compare electrically?

No idea. The other one is for the gauge cluster; probably why Toyota didn't provide any specs.
