Hello , I am rebuilding a late yr 79 FJ40 and can use some insight from anyone like me that has done this using aGozzard Tub and fenders along with factory body parts. The first thing I noticed is the sport bar is too wide. Has anyone ran into this?
Welcome! First rule of Mud is: Pics or it didn't happen! LOL. Oh and check your bezel before posting said pics, or else...

Thanks! ok- Ill get a picture when Im at the site- basically the interior dimention where the sport bar sits is narrower on my new Gozzard tub than the stock sport bar.. My biggest concern really is will my OEM top and sides and rear doors fit? Generally hoping to get guidance from anyone who has used OEM body parts with Gozzard tub.

I use the Sor.com catalog to see what parts look like and the change date for application. The catalog isn't the easiest to use. They are expensive and have high shipping charges but they seem to stand behind their sales. We have many fine vendors up top and classifieds for sale or wanted.

Never hear of Gozzard and have no idea what a sports bar is,

Welcome, I have not seen to many Gozzard body builds, you should try searching Ih8mud.com by using google (better results than native search engine). In the end you will need to measure your top with your Gozzard body, as based on all the body swaps I read on here there is always some inconsistency (and most eventually get done!) . Body swaps are not for the weak of heart, good for you, I here those are nice bodies!

This difference on mine was about 3 inches allowing room for the roll bar feet to fit in without trimming.
Been a few years since I put on my Gozzard tub but I might be able to help some.

This is a 74 year so the body is a little different.

Edit to add: I cut it out of the center, sleeved with a tube insert the re- welded the bar.

The one above is Gozzard full tub, stock 74 steel fenders and hood.
I have not tried to fit the hard top but from what I have read it will fit.

Gozzard tubs are very nice. Crushers has worked on a few also ,I think he’s in Alberta now .. a few guys around have used their tubs. I was always considering buying one of thier tubs. But Aqualu is so close to me that if I ever order a tub I’ll go with them. Would love to follow your build post lots of pics. Gozzards stuff is solid.

What half doors are you running and how do you like them?

Thank you for all the replies--comments/suggestions - now I know the roll bar( Gozzard calls it a sport Bar) suprise isn't unique (shark56 had to deal with it too). Ill also change the title of my thread to " Gozzard Tub Questions." as 65swb45 suggested I can see this is going to be a journey and will appreciate the ideas>
