Tenn,

We have a fairly large shop and only a couple of our guys have done the job. I imagine as these vehicles age the number of repairs will increase.

A footnote:

We had one in here a while back that was shifting way funny, it turned out that the PHH had been leaking for some time and the neutral safety switch was bathed in crusty antifreeze. It even corroded the terminals in the connector.

If this was happening wouldn't the owner notice
1)significant chronic loss of coolant
2)large green puddles under car
Or was it a slooow leak that was leaking just enough to corrode the neutral safety switch ?
I guess not everyone that owns a cruiser is a cruiserhead.

It never made it to the ground. It was a slow leaker over an extended period of time. The guy that owned it had no idea.

If you have skinny, girly arms and hands, you should be able to change the hose in an hour :G.

It took me a long time to change it, but most of the hassle was installing the new, green stripe hose. It's very stiff, and I had a tough time getting it and the hose clamps in place. I used the spring style clamps.

IMO you should change it out now.

Cruiserman,

As I mentioned above, my girly arms were attached to my wife. 8)

Sometimes it's good to sublet a job ::)

The service guys get a blank look in their faces when I say the word LAND CRUISER.  They don't see very many if any in WisCOWsin.

Ok, I can beat that, yesterday the landcruiser specialist mechanic at my Toyota dealer was asking me about recent work on ym truck. I mentioned I'd had the d-s birfield rebuilt. His response was "what's a birfield"? I guess I meant CV joint.
