Heater Blower Long Shot

i have been wrestling with issues with my heater blower. of course immediately replaced the blower unit, but that did not resolve the issue.

the problem is the the blower works, and stops working at random times. picked it up from the shop, blowing like a muthu. turned off the rig to gass up, and no blow when rig restarted. rig sat over the weekend, started it up to take it back to the shop for further work, and back to blowing like a champ. at the shop, shut the rig off & then restarted….. no blow again.

seems when the system get hot, something changes, and no blow. again, to be clear, its not a lessor air flow, its no flow

blower is new, Toyota resister is new. grounds in the kick panels are secured.

anybody have blower at start up, but no blow if turned off after warm?

My heater was possessed. But after a simple exorcism, all is well.

I've had this problem with my heater on my '94 FZJ80 for some time. I would select a temperature with the slider and randomly the heater would go to full heat. I could jiggle the temperature slider and it would return to normal. This was particularly annoying in the summer when the temp slider was all the way to cold and I would get blasted with full hot air.

I am trying my best to finish swapping my stereo along with putting my interior back together today. Well taking the dash off and pulling the plugs out seemed easy enough until I got to the last plug. I cannot figure out how to get the plug for the rear heater switch to release, I have tried depressing all the different holes and such with a small screwdriver and none of them seem to have any play. How the heck do I get this plug apart. Thanks guys
