Heat shield identification

I have this heat shield that I removed from a 1982 fj40. This would help keep the firewall from baking next to the stock exhaust.

I have yet to find a picture online of another like it on google images or the SOR parts diagrams.

I’m curious if anyone else has one and if it’s even a Toyota part.

If you have a US 81-83 FJ40 imported to the US it mounts on the cowl in the engine compartment where the exhaust runs. Small section go into the start of the transmission tunnel. Should two small brackets on the cowl that line up with holes in the heat shield. Other markets used it on the BJ/FJ/HJ series from 8/80 on. BJ mounted on the right t side.

The parts vehicle may have been an import from Canada. Didn’t have a title and I I knew about it’s was is spent some time in Minnesota prior to us finding it in Iowa.

Would this have been a gold zinc plated finish? I’ve been contemplating adapting it to my 1980 fj40

Have an 82 tub that has brackets. This heat shield came off a 84 HJ47RV.

Part number is 55203-90800. Same number for the FJ and HJ. BJ exhaust runs out the opposite side so obviously would be different.

IIRC there is a difference between the 79-80 and 81+ firewall shields.

79 and 80 did not have a shield. Excuse ran under the frame not over. That was only on models with a CAT. Other markets ran overtime but without a heat shield.

it was different, it was a triangle piece that was "glued" to the firewall and had 2 bolts holding it on

Don't remember my 79 having a heat shield or floor insulator as Toyota calls them on my 3/79. Maybe a piece of insulation with foil on the outside around where the gas pedal is. Can't check since it's at another location.

Here is the 1/75-1/79 heat shield that is mounted to the tub before the 90° going to the muffler/tailpipe.

Not sure if this is the 1/75-1/79 or the 1/79 plus. Part number changed 1/79.

the 79-80 isn't an exhaust heat shield, it is a shield between the bellhousing and the driver's right foot
right at the bend from firewall to trans hump

yes it was US spec, I think it was an 82, it might be an 81
