I felt like an idiot not wear plugs during pump testing today, so I wandered the yard to find the quietest place. It's amazing the test dude could even hear me talk: he wasn't wearing hearing protection either!
 
Thanks for the link. I have a pair of the Bilsom 31 db NNR earmuffs and would highly recommend them. Also my favorite earplugs are the Howard Leight 33 db NNR. What totally rocks is when you use the plugs and muffs together........;)

This is exactly what I do when I go to the rifle range. It really works amazingly well. I would still like to be able to hear, at least a little at age 80.
 
hard(er) to remain alert with compromised hearing.....I'm a big fan of hearing conservation......:D
 
got my kit today too. Dang there's a bunch of stuff in there!

That's a cool kit! Came just when I needed a birthday gift for my bro, he got the muffs.

Yep, safety yellow with grey reflective top strap no less. :grinpimp:

Might have something to do w/putting my fire department name on the line for 'business'. ;) I take it you got a different color?
 
I know this thread started back in July, but I had to resurect it.
Came home from work today and my hearing kit had arrived....forgot I even ordered it..this thing is bad ass, check the picture sirenmoses posted, it's exactly the same one that they sent to me, I got a set of black muffs, not the yellow, and every type of ear plug you could imagine. Here is the website again www.hearingportal.com I haven't checked to see if the offer still exists, if it doesnt and you didnt try last time, you missed out big time.

Ordered mine. How long did it take most people to get the package in? Appears to be 3 months? Just wondering because I ordered it in my wife's name and I need to warn her in advance so she does not see the package and think she is getting something nice for her as a surprise from me. Of course, that would be a good joke to be there when she opens it.:D
