Both my OEM headlights are cracked, so during my rewire I'm opting to upgrade a little.

As most of you are aware, there are multiple options to choose from, however the question I have is how our most customers/owners mounting these newer 7" diameter aftermarket headlight units into the 6.5" size mounting rings? I must be missing something.

Furthermore, if there's a simple enough explanation for the mounting of 7" light in a 6.5" inch bracket, will the 7" lights also somewhat clear the opening of the bezel?

Again thanks in advance for the help.

I was hoping to install these:
7" Halogen Headlight Pair Pack System - H4 DOT - KC #42301

My FJ is a 67' incase there are different sizes between years (I highly doubt).

7" round headlights are what 40's(45, 55 and 60's) have......so knock yourself out......as they will all fit. I like Cibie, IPF, Hella E codes.....

the trim ring is bit smaller diameter(because they have to hold the lights in) but the headlights are 7"

those KC's.......meh! they say E code and DOT..which is not possible really.

Amazon.com: Cibie 82440 Light Unit: Automotive

unless you upgrade the wiring harness you want to get the 55-60 watt bulbs.

IPF 7" on my 45LV....standard wattage bulbs because I didn't want to cut the back on the headlight buckets to run the new harness.

Cibie E codes, think i run 55/85 watt in those, but with an ARB/IPF harness.....
