We live on a leeward shore with a severe Sargassum seaweed dumping problem (like 30 ft high piles being dragged out of the water and floating rafts extending 100s yards offshore at its worst).

Apart from the health issues (we are moving house), the Hydrogen Sulphide gas released as it decomposes is extremely corrosive, forming a light acid on anything it touches, and we are an extremely humid marine environment.

It plays havoc with electrical items including vehicles.

During last few months of a severe dumping episode:

1. the LC windscreen wipers have stopped turning off, but also the intermittent timing adjustment has failed. I would guess the internal motor stop/rest switch for them not turning off, but could that effect the timer also?

2. Headlights, once turned to full beam, will only come off dull beam if I rotate the column switch between the two furthest positions. Headlights otherwise work normally. Any idea whether this is a relay, or likely the column switch itself?

I haven't been able to find and confirm the relay for the headlamps;(searched here and on car) and would be great if anyone can help with that. JDM1999 UZJ100

Any help appreciated!

I'd first check, each wire and wire housing block. Work from lights and washer pump & washer resevoir back.

Wow that is … not a real estate issue I’ve ever encountered. I figured the thread would be about a too-large burrito.

Not even sure where to start but some isopropyl alcohol, desiccant pads, and some dielectric grease may be in your future? Ideally, PCBs exposed to H2S should be potted, but that sounds harder than moving house.

I hope at least the winters are nicer in BVI.
