Headlamp Woes

So, these headlamps were installed in a truck l just acquired. I dont know nothin about em. Only operate on low beams. Top half works; not botton.

Any advice on how to get high and low??

Are those LED?

The highbeams are ground switched via the steering column stalk. Did the highbeams ever work with these new bulbs?

If they are LED, and the PO did not understand the ground switched system Toyota used, then they may not have installed the relays required to get the LED lamps to work correctly. I have a post in my build thread that talks about it here.

You can troubleshoot it, or if you don’t want to mess with it, buy the OEM Toyota Koito H4 plug and play headlight kit for like $40.00.

It’s a fantastic kit that’s super cheap. All wiring and relays are ready.

The only issue you might have is the bright light indicator won’t work. There are ways around it

It is a great kit. I personally didn't have to use the supplied wiring to make the blue light indicator work for the high beam.
