After turning up boost, adding a top mount intercooler, and turning up the fuel I could spin the tires on dry pavement around a corner when it shifted gears. My tranny has never shown any signs of problems.....after about 6 months of this I noticed if I gunned it off the line it would slip for a second when shifting gears rather than trying to spin the tires. I promptly started easing off the throttle until after the shift......no problems since.
On the weekend I towed my travel trailer (recently lifted another few inches) back from osoyoos packed with family, bikes, canoe, skateboards, scooters and nerf gunsI've always been able to keep the tranny temps around 210 f by pulling the hills in 2nd gear, 3000 rpm but in the hot weather with all the extra weight I hit 250 degrees through the slow moving hair pins on this side of princeton.
I have a big tranny cooler but I think for the hot weather I'm going to add another of equal size....
I wish there were a more cost effective fix than $2800 plus labour. Don't get me wrong I love my LC but I can't justify that much dough on a truck I could replace for $10k...
I was pulling 3000 rpm and 100kmh hour in 3rd out of Merrit, cruising along quite merrily until that damn light came on towards the top. Didn't think of dropping down to 2nd as it was pulling just fine. Same speed going up the snowshed hill on my way up with no issues, but it was a little cooler in ambient temperatures that day.
What is the $2800 you are referring to?
never mind
