I had Jason from CruisinOffroad fab me up a bumper for my HDJ81 over Christmas. I finally got to mounting it last week and it looks awesome. It is super beefy and looks great, I couldn't be happier. He was great about tweaking the design along the way and building it specific to my needs.

Highly recommended.

Here are a few quick and dirty shots I took. (Jason, I'll send you some better ones for the your site down the road).

Hey nice bumper!!

Daryl, Im glad you got your winch and everything worked out for ya, bumper looks great...

Crusin Jason did the same for me a couple months back, built a custom bumper to house my factory winch.

Includes CB mount, IPF lights, license plate mount and custom beer holders... Yep beer holders, no more down soilders sliding off the hood:D

Its turned out great, I upgraded to Amsteel blue synthetic with snatch as well, saves about 24 lbs, not that Im worried about my weight:rolleyes:.

enjoy the pics, see my garage for better photos.

Dont meant to hijack your thread Daryl. peace.

You need to repost those pictures, they are not quite small enough yet.....

;)

That looks sweet, I was wondering what you were going to replace your original with....

Ive talked to Jason about custom making a Light bar close to the one you had, thus me getting it from you and hop to have it done once I install the factory winch.... now to bribe my dad :hhmm:

I've got my eye on something similar to this design for when it comes time for Jasons mad fabbin' skills on mine.

Yeah, except I'll make it better looking :grinpimp:

I'll get some Amsteel eventually and replace the roller fairlead with a hawse style. I forgot how much the roller one sticks out. I got the cable wound on last night and forgot how much of a pain steel cable can be, especially winding it on inside a tight garage!

I'll probably tack the bottom two bolts of the winch mount to prevent theft. I don't know if I should do the same with the bottom bumper bolts.

Next up, sliders!

How many feet of Amsteel blue did it take to fill the spool on the Factory winch?
I want to swap mine over PDQ

Hey Sheldon.

120' with some room to spare, purchased from Donalson Rope.

The original steel cable was 150' (5/16" I think)

I might even get a 50 foot extension down the road.

So you figure you could have wound some more feet on there? I want to get the maximum length on the spool without buying too much more rope than I need.
I'll look into Donaldson Rope.

Your Bumper looks slick.

Tks

The man does nice work!

I believe I got 5 complete wraps and to my eye it looks like I could get another whole wrap and still have 3/4" before the lip of the drum. So maybe each wrap is 24', does that make sense?

if you go to Donaldson rope (north van), you could put the nose of your truck in their bay door and actually start spooling on line and get the exact amount. As long as you have already removed your old cable.

They have spools with 1000's of feet on them.

I'll go with you if you want. I know one of the workers there.

Its a small rope shop that mainly sells boat lines to the tugs, ferries, super yachts and helicopter operations.
There biggest customer is the Washington group.... nice customer to have.

i got 170 feet on mine nice to work with till you start compounding with snatch blocks tends to suck in under load especially with the more wraps and the rigging end of the movies buys tons tell them you work in the movies .great local guy
