I'm doing a bit of a weird project - rebadging my LX 450 to Toyota emblems etc. I'll be keeping all the Lexus parts so that I have the option of reverting anytime. The LX has keyless entry, and I'm assuming the way it works is that the radio + little computer that picks up the signal tells the lock system to lock / unlock...so in theory as long as the lock actuator's harness is the same on the lexus & the toyota...it should just work plug & play with the hatch. Am I missing something?

I know that my key won't work since the Toyota hatch will have a different lock (from a different car), but I just want to make sure the power locks work!

Wait, what? Rebadging doesn't require you to change the whole hatch. Was there something wrong with the Lexus hatch? Just pull the Lexus emblem and nameplate and replace with the Toyota version. Doing this will require no changing of keys and/or worry about the keyless entry.

To my knowledge the hatches (upper and lower) are the same.

I'm changing the whole hatch because I want to keep my Lexus one in tact without messing with it. I have a friend who can paint it for me so it's not really a $ issue!

I replaced my rusted LX hatch with a clean LC hatch. Everything swapped fine except the LC hatch had two holes on the left side for the Toyota badge that I plugged with rubber caps. I swapped the key cylinder and used VHB tape to adhere the LX badges. Yes, the LC hatch lock actuator will work for you.
Wont that LEXUS on the key cylinder cover ruin your disguise?
