I bought everything needed to add one to my Troopy from my local Toyota dealer a couple of months ago.

Which retainer and ornament is for the lower step?

I can't remember, but it was pretty clear from the diagram in the EPC which was which

Any indication that can’t be used for both left and right side?

No indication as such, but you can't... I tried. I'm making up some myself that will go on the other side.

Thanks for the measurement tips. Had to cut and weld the upper step ladder. The troop carrier has a bit wider edge compared to the short wheel based. I am not sure if it was an factory issue or maybe it was only matched for the troop.

There are parts for the Right side and parts for the Left. They are not interchangeable.
