Hard Top Swap 79 tp 65

Can I use a 79 Hard Top ( just the top ) and make it work on a 65 SWB I realize the 79 bolts to the window frame but I was thinking we could swap over all the hooks and latches from the 65 top and as long as they are the same size. Does this make sence ? Thanks for all your help everyone.

is the 65 a removable top? the non-removable top is different....I think

Yes it is a removable top

The channel across the windshield frame is completely different. You will have to modify it extensively or find an early model channel and replace it.

OR..... I have a lid from an early model that I'll trade you for yours. I need a lid for a later model or to modify mine.
