It is up to you but if you would like to add a side marker and not cut up the body there are ways...TYLER and myself have added side markers to the mirrors.

Looks good! Mine wasn't as scary! :D

brave man! what did you use to prime/seal the exposed steel?

i have definitely felt the need for these when changing lanes in gridlock or changing lanes in a three lane situation when there is another car parallel to me on the other side and I want to be sure he does not change into the centre lane at the same time I do.

semlin,

Do you want your in the OEM amber, clear or crystal-clear? :D

Since they are VERY light, it should not add much to the shipping weight of the grab bar. ;)

how many yen for these things ?

just gto to get my paypal account sorted out or persuade you to take a cheque

semlin,

What's a "cheque"? :flipoff2: ;)

I'm going to ask $50 plus shipping (if packing them in bumps the package up to the next weight bracket, that is), whether you want OEM, clear, or crystal-clear.

Not that I'm trying to entice you, but I don't think I don't think I would be able to offer any of those at that price later because I'm planning on combining the orders for the bars and the side markers together to save on shipping and wire transfer fee.

If that doesn't cause you to whip your "cheque" book out and write out a blank cheque, then I don't know what would. :D

That lane changing scenario is the exact reason I installed these. That always happens to me on the highway.

For now, I went around the raw edge with factory touchup paint. It never rains in SoCal anyway : )

True about the lane change but how about the blind spot? I had those installed for about 6 yrs, pic below and still bright as new, consider add another one? Just my.02

Fender mounted turn signal indicators (commonly called 'cheek lamps' over here) are pretty much standard in most markets where Land Cruisers are sold.

These things are not as fragile as some may think.

Just a thought - but after you cut a hole like that in the fender - doesn't that become a very suspectible area for rust? After the cut, the edges of the metal (unless treated) are exposed to the elements.

Just a thought - not sure if it is a valid concern......

Most of us that have cut holes in our fenders for lamps or snorkles have painted the bare metal with touch-up paint or some other kind of paint.

Will someone who has added the side markers post the dimensions on where they need to be located? I picked up a set when I was in Japan and would like to install them before my wife returns on Monday.

Thanks
Tom

Holy deja vu!
I swear I had posted this reply earlier, but could not see it!

Glad to hear that you made it back safely.

Anyway, Tom, you might see something that you might find useful with the installation:

Guess I'm going to work on my searching skills. Who would have thought to look in the parts forum for technical info.
