Can anybody say how the GPS in the Hamilton unit works?
Does it borrow the GPS from the phone? Or does it have its own internal GPS? Or does it use the original LC’s GPS?
The GPS in my LC has never worked too well. But there are times I don’t have a phone connected to my LC, so I’m hoping to solve the issue by running Google Maps from the unit itself (if this is possible).
Correct, it uses the phone GPS from whatever app you are using to navigatePretty sure CarPlay operates off your iPhone's GPS, not the cars.
$200 is small price to pay for a company with actual tech support that answer the phone in America and not India. They will also assist with install and configuration. No idea what the $500 option from Amazon is but I have had the Hamilton for a year and zero issues and everything works.Hate to do back-to-back posts, but does anyone know if Hamilton will do a Black Friday deal? Looking at the ($700) streaming option, but the $500 Amazon option keeps giving me side-eye.
Would much rather prefer to support a US-based operation, but $200 is $200
