I need the transmission support crossmember, cradle, and the 2 L-Brcakets.

Must come from the 40/42/43/46 series
The "cradle" crossmember came in two flavors, no matter which group, again with the 10/82 changeover date:
8/80-10/82 = 51403-60010
OR
8/82-4/86 = 51403-60011

The side brackets:

40/42/43/46 series
8/80-10/82 RH= 51433-60020 stamped "R-FB020"
LH = 51434-60030 stamped "L-FB030"
OR
10/82-10/85. RH = 51433-60021
LH = 51434-60031

Thanks

I have the middle part and 2 side pieces that are the same. If you can find the other side piece, you can have it.

Thanks, Which side bracket is missing? I'll find one somewhere
I am not sure which side is missing off the top of my head. I purchased it for a h55 swap over a year ago from Australia. The guy sent me the wrong side piece. I told him of his mistake and he refused to refund my money or send me the correct piece until I returned the part. I told him to send me the correct side piece and that I would return the other extra side at my expense once I received it. He refused! After about 4 months of trying, I finally gave up. They are difficult to find and are not cheap if you see one.

Much easier to find one of these from an early 60 and modify, super easy to trim the center section and slot the holes for a 40 frame. Keep in mine you need the tranny mount for the same year (was different between the three-piece and later one-piece). You'll also need the later shift linkage for an H55 ....

I took some photos of what I have. Not sure which way it mounts so I'm not sure which side is missing.

@Indygbd the 2 brackets you have are the right side, the R in the # is for right, L would be left. the welded nuts go to the right side, there is an indent for the front driveshaft on that side of the crossmember.
the crossmember is missing the welded nuts for the left side but that is not a big deal.

Well if anyone has the left side bracket I think this is what tstepp920 needs.

Not only are these both left side L brackets they are also for the FJ45/HJ47 which is not wide enough for the FJ40/BJ42. The ones I have that work are R-FB020 and L-FB030. Like Paul @3_puppies mentioned the crossmember is missing two welded nuts but it is the correct size. I have one that has two different L brackets that are shaped the correct for the SWB but are not wide enough. That one I have no matching transmission and would sell if it worked.

LITP is correct.
If it helps, there are 6 different sets of side brackets for the 4X series, in 3 different groupings; and their changeover date is 10/82.
The 40/42/43/46 series is one group, the 45 series a separate group, and the 47 series the third group.

The "cradle" crossmember came in two flavors, no matter which group, again with the 10/82 changeover date:
8/80-10/82 = 51403-60010
8/82-4/86 = 51403-60011

I am unsure of the interchangeability of any parts. All this as per the Parts Manual.

The side brackets:

40/42/43/46 series
8/80-10/82 RH= 51433-60020 stamped "R-FB020"
LH = 51434-60030 stamped "L-FB030"
10/82-10/85. RH = 51433-60021
LH = 51434-60031

45 series
8/80-10/82. RH = 51433-60030
LH = 51434-60040
10/82-4/86. RH = 51433-60031
LH = 51434-60041

47 series
8/80-10/82. RH = 51433-60040
LH = 51434-60050
10/82-6/85. RH = 51433-60041
LH = 51434-60051

HTH.

Someone make this a Sticky in the FAQ for 40s

Would it be foolish to assume that the "cradle" from the 40,42,43, 46 group are all the same width

I just measured the width of a 51403-60010 crossmember/cradle: 20-5/16" = 532mm. HTH

The 28 1/2" measurement between frame rails on mine would include the "crossmember/cradle AND the side brackets.....I wonder if the brackets make up 4" each side?

So this is what I need for my 5/80 FJ40

Must come from the 40/42/43/46 series

OR
10/82-10/85. RH = 51433-60021
LH = 51434-60031

Thanks
