After a couple of years thinking (agonizing) about this issue some thoughts
Rear of transfer case discs hang down and are susceptible to gettin rubbed off on rocks, trees, etc.
There are some neat handle operated hydraulic cylinders that with a a slave would make a good system I think - but would take some engineering - testing. Would be much better than a cable system.
Whatever used needs to be adjustable from the drivers seat - starting on hills etc
For right now the easiest solution for me seems to be the line lock route
I just don't want to have to go through the hassles of finding a late 40 rear axle, rebuilding it so that I know it's right adding the locker, engineering and adding a center handle for e-brake.
So rear axle may be best - and transfer case drum 2nd.
