I have a nice tranny/tcase setup from an '84 FJ60 that's been collecting dust for 25 years. I have a cummins 6at which you can see in the linked video on my youtube channel. The '6at' is a 6cyl 210 cu in IDI turbo diesel rated at 120 hp at 3600 rpms. Developed in the 1980s by Onan for genset use (hence those RPMs). Cummins bought Onan and continued production and later offered an automotive and a marine version. UPS and Frito-Lay were big fleet customers for light delivery trucks. I have installed 3 of them over the years, the last two with a GM SM 465 2wd mounted on the tail. Almost all of the 6at's produced have a standard GM bellhousing so the SM 465s just plain bolt up and in. I am currently wanting to install the above mentioned Toyota gearbox combo behind one of these engines. My question is.... Will the aluminum conversion BH for a SBC offered by LC companies (Marks etc) bolt right up an work exaxtly the same as if it were going onto a GM v8? Keep in mind, I will be pulling an unaltered SM 465 out and installing the H42 and conversion bell in it's place. I understand that I will also need small parts with the bell, such as a conversion pilot bearing. Note on the 6at. It's a very nice diesel engine and there's a YT video of an FJ 60 in the snow and I've heard of a guy way back who installed one in an FJ55. Thanks for any help with my inquirey. Gary
