I've been looking on this for some days now .. and wonder if someone have any comment to share ..

http://www.ebay.com/itm/150832041355

Would not be my main driving lights .. but wonder about light pattern and real light if can be useful or not ..

They really don't look like they provide that much light - form the pic anyway... Might be good for DRL's.

Without an appropriate housing/reflector design, they will be even more useless than they already are... I would personally not bother using them in any front facing lights.

Typical made in china stuff that is perfect for the rice racer brigade.

cheers,
george.

That one looks like it may put out some decent light with the proper housing being that it has a 380 lumen output.

just for my acknowledge .. how many lumen in any standard 55/60 bulb .?

I've got flashlights...pocket sized ones... that put out 200 lumens. I can't see going to the effort to even flip the switch for a set of 380 lumen automotive lights.

I love the concept of LED lighting for the front of the rig. But they have a ways to go before they can compete with old school 100 watt halogens in anything except energy consumption. And yes I am talking about the $1500 "light bars" too. These seem impressive... if you only need close in lighting. They simply can't reach out like a good 'burning wire and reflector" can. If you don't mind the start up lag (and price) a good quality HID driving light like the HID version of the Light Force 240 is a quantum leap up from the halogens too.

Mark...

What bothers me with the HID it's you need proper projector to get the proper light cut .. which it's important to me since I don't wanna bother other drivers ..

i have seen HIDs in code IPF headlight housings which were not at all irritating to other drivers. At least not to me as the were approaching. But projectors are not that expensive either.

If you are talking high beams or driving lights... then there are no concerns about cutoffs and other drivers. ;)

I have not seen any LEDs that have any sort of cut off at all. Simply being so puny in output that they don't need a cutoff is a poor answer in my book. :)

So silly. I've got a box of six old KC Daylighters that I'll run pink slips against anyone's "light bars" at 200m.

The bulbs in the OP actually have a built-in projector-style collimator They may not be bad depending on the application. The price is not ridiculous for a pair.

first time I see these .. but are only hi beam .. tell us how they work, I assume you ask for 4300 temp ?
