H152 Fitment on 80-Series/Best Gearing Options

Just really like the 5th gear in my VDJ79 that l drive for work so thinking that would be nice for the 15B. Sits on 2,000rpm at 100

80 chassis with 40 series extended cab ute, running 15BF+ turbo with H15# gearbox. Liked the idea of auto but looking too hard to get parts.

You'll want longer legs with the 15B for sure then.
Surely wholesale or someone could do a bell housing to put a compushift to Toyota AB60 or GM 6L80 or something behind it?

Been speaking to a fella who put a 8hp bmw box behind his 15B but cost $10k.
$6.5 just for the adapters. Manual box seems a lot cheaper at this point. Wanted to get a factory bellhousing from a A44# but hard to find.

Best of both.
Taller tyres reduces engine RPM at a given speed. 33's by roughly 5%, 35's by about 10%.

Larger tyres reduce torque at the wheels by the same amount, so you may need lower gearing for low range for offroad or towing.

What bellhousing are you using between the 15B and H15X box?

Looking at using the Dyna bellhousing with the Big4 conversions, they make an adapter to bolt up the H151.
There was talk that the 15B 6 speed, H260 bellhousing fits but no one can confirm it so the next best bet is the adapter.

Thought the H151 would hold up to the abuse better than the H55, been good in my 80 behind my turbo 1FZ for a few years now.

All h15x are same except separated SEAT 100 series where the shifter is moved behind the steel intermediate plate.

does that mean the one i can get from my local dealer will fit in my 80? and would a H151 bellhousing mate up?

How is 5th gear for you? not too tall?

Im deciding between new H152F or rebuild the H151F i have in the 80.
Would much rather buy new but im thinking the H152F 5th gear might be too tall for hdft with 3.7 diffs (standard for euro hdft 80) and 33 inch tyres?
At the same time the lower first gear in the H152F is what i would like.
