I believe most folks (and certainly mine) problem with this is taking an allocation for a currently hard to get vehicle and then flipping it. If you want to be a car dealer, great, go be one, but IMHO this type of behavior does nothing but push pricing and in many cases, causes a false lack of availability.

In covid times it was toilet paper. I have seen it with Apple AirPods where a black Friday sale was bought out by a couple of individuals then all of them listed on FB marketplace.
I have no problem with someone buying something, anything with their own money and taking the risk that they can sell it for more. Its just none of my business.

It becomes your business when it creates a false shortage for an item and through that, drives up prices.

did anyone else think its weird to have the tan inserts on the seats on a otherwise all black trok or are they all like that?

Just a form of arbitrage.

Would the demand be as high for these vehicles if purchases were restricted to those that actually wanted to buy them to use them instead of opening it up to people that just want to buy and resell for the hopes of making some coin? I doubt it.

But enterprising people all over the world just search out the hottest and latest and greatest of nearly everything to try and find a greater fool that will pay more to be the first or the second when apparent demand outpaces supply. This seller didn't even have enough money to buy it outright. They didn't even have the guts to use their own money in their scheme.

And I say **** them all. It is them (the profiteers) who are in fact colluding to drive up prices in their scheme to make money by inserting themselves into something that they wouldn't otherwise be involved in.

who hurt you?

Geezuz. When did ‘mud become a place where people spent more time pissing and moaning at each other than talking about Landcruisers!?!?

Been here a little bit longer than people like you coming in to piss and moan with fake moral outrage.

Seriously, either since they discontinued the 2021 or when they said they were "bringing it back".

Say what? Damn Johnny cum Laudes…

"collusion"
I still don’t know what you are getting at. A guy is selling his vehicle at auction. So what?

I’m completely lost.

Seller posted the vehicle, likely before the auction but had forgotten to take it down for $84,500.

Funny enough, they had it posted for as high as $95,000.

Good for them.

IIRC, c&b only allows for the reserve to be for msrp. But I could be wrong.

My first comment pointing to the vehiclehistory information ($95,000 ask) just 3 days after the vehicle was purchased was deleted. CaB is such a crappy platform. We will see if I get an email explaining why they deleted it. Maybe I need to start making videos again just to chew them up.

Let's try it again:

wow good job on the internet sleuth info. but im kinda curious why you care so much

Edit: i just clickd on your Yootoob. you were burned in the past by a flipper. makes cents now

...like it took much of any actual effort to plug the VIN into a website.

I am kinda curious why you care that I care? It's just as weird for you to care so much about why I care.

Here's the reason though, since you are so curious. When you buy a vehicle from someone I think it's a pretty good idea to know who you are buying it from. It's far less important on a nearly brand new vehicle like this GX550, but there are reasons to know a little background.

In this case, because he's got a loan out on it so there's all that potential time and hassle you're going to have to spend to make sure you get the title and get his loan funded and closed.

As explained above....to me and many others, I'd rather not bail this guy out of his money making scheme "family emergency"-caused predicament. And the fact that CaB keeps deleting a factual comment shows collusion on the other side of the table.
