Yes the CC helps control the speed especially down hill I had a 2012 4runner with DAC and the lack of speed control took my confidence away

When going down those steep grades having the 1mph is great, makes a ton of noise, but you feel in control. Going past the middle setting feels like your going way to fast. Supposedly the new GX Land Cruiser ect will have a quitter crawl control

@acrad that little carpet has kept my elbow comfy on those long tow trips, but seeing the photo when my wife made it reminds me I need to clean it

Yep, CC >>> DAC. I tried DAC before installing CC. CC makes it seems like you're glued to the slope. Love it. Don't love the sound of it, but oh well...

Drove out to the Black Rock Playa in northern Nevada to see the annular eclipse. It wasn't quite 100% where we were, but it was pretty close. Also had to change a tire on the playa. Don't be lazy like me and air down lol. Also I need a taller bottle jack.

I had success lifting the jack with two pieces of 6” decking board I had left over from my shed ramp. I glued and screwed two pieces together and also use it for leveling the truck when camping. It obviously wouldn’t work if you were in an awkward rock crawling position, but I don’t crawl

I've had an 80 for a while, but new to the 150 section. We just sold our E63 AMG and picked this GX 460 up for my wife, then put wheels on it immediately. We love it. GX for light trails, road trips. LX 450 for heavier stuff and as my commuter.

I'm still getting used to the sideways gate on the GX. Not a complaint. It's just different not having a tailgate to sit on. Tried to sell her on the LX 570, but she thought it was way too big. Anyway, we're really stoked to have a GX too. See you guys around!

A B road I try to hit 2-3 times a week. It's only about 5 minutes away from where I work and if I have an hour to kill I can hit a few others as well. It's been kept up for harvest, once the fields are clear they will stop grading it until planting and it will get interesting again.

Another weekend in the Sierras - probably the last one for a while as temps have dropped. Friday night was a low of 10°F and made for an interesting sleeping situation overnight. Also found some rocks.
