What trail were you all doing? I was just up there a couple of weeks ago.
There were 10 rigs in the group and we covered a few trails. We spent most of the day on 3N11 ,3N17, 3N83, 3N08. We headed over to Cactus Flats OHV via Cactus Rd to get to our final destination Horsethief Flat 3N03A.

Ironman nitro lift arrived yesterday, can't wait to put it on!

It's going to look great on your rig! Love how your wheels look. Thinking of doing the same at some point with my white GX.

Question... my brakes shudder going down hills intermittently on the GX 460 ... either its normal for these or its may be like trying to catch a fart in the wind ,Ha ! I'm thinking pads after they heat up, I know it shouldn't be the rotors , cause if it was it would be always instead of sometimes... Any Ideas ?

Oh and I searched for this problem on Mud before I posted here...

Oh and its a stock as a rock 2010
GX 460 camper.jpg
460 with stock size tires, wheels

And not necessarily with the camper on it ... its still will shudder every once in awhile

it has 132k on it ... and runs perfectly other than the sometimes brake shudder...

I’d get the rotors and brakes checked by a professional. My dad had to get his LC 200 rotors resurfaced at 85k. If you haven’t had this done it’s time for a check and maybe new rotors. What’s your brake maintenance history? Running stock pads and rotors?

You might get better info if you start a separate thread. Having said that, what is the location history of the truck? Several folks on Club Lexus forum having trouble with caliper pins corroding and binding. How mechanical inclined are you? Willing to jack up the truck, pull the wheels and see what's going on? Intermittent shudder isn't normal on any car.

Mine did the same thing. I switch the rotors out with some slotted ones and got new brake pads and no longer have this issue.

I have the same problem. I've resurfaced my rotors once already and it eventually came back. Sometimes they shudder more than others and I only have 80k on it AND (as mentioned earlier) that's with already having resurfaced my rotors!
Can't afford to now, but I'm looking at those aftermarket pads and rotors from Amazon that we all were discussing on that brakes thread.

Ok I'll replace the rotors / pads if it gets more frequent. I've owned this since Jan. this year and its our luxury cruiser... rides as smooth as butter, well in comparison to our 96 LX450 ( 80 series ) ...

Thanks for your input !

I H8 starting new threads on mud ... when theres been just bout everything in the universe discussed and asked on Mud......so I just searched for GX460 threads, and picked one... In fact I've been slammed for asking something in the past that folks got their panties in a wad about causing something about wasting bandwidth...

Like with my 80 series, theirs everything youd ever want to know and stuff you dont want to know bout them on mud ... ha ...

This 460 came from Dallas... I'll get the rotors probably replaced / new pads... I'm mechanically inclined, but I'm also retired, so someone else will be fixing it ... ha

Rotors are normally too cheap to turn these days. Take care on break in . It sure makes a difference. I have had very good luck with eBay rotors with holes on several vehicles.

We're up in Tahoe often, what side of the lake is that? Looks like dispersed camping. Is it US Forestry land where you can actually cut and burn (felled) wood?

Its north of Lake Tahoe part of the Bowman lake and Lindsey lake area.

this is my second trip up there and it offers a unique dispersed camping experience where if you find a spot and it's not marked private you are free to camp. you can burn wood in a stove/grill but it must be from the Tahoe national Forest (no outside wood ...or burn the evidence..)

i use a propane firepit and the Camper has an oven and stove top as well.

Must be nice, having National Forests that are open and all... :( (all of ours are closed, as is BLM, and State Trust land until fire risk abates, so , like next winter...)

Aww man that stinks. Guess a fire ban isn’t enough. What state is that? First guess CA
Ok I see AZ in your profile.

We all need to pray for rain now and snow this winter for our western states. My Angel is from Cali and we were just out there visiting NOR Cal . Folsom lake was less than 40% of volume. More than a 1/4 mile drive from the boat ramp to the waters edge . Lots of fun for cars and ATVs . But most boaters are stuck with a vessel they can’t get to water. If you get it to the water there is a Five MPH limit right now. Very sad.

Our baby came early! We were expecting her much later in the month and much to my surprise my wife told me we got to go!
Thanks to Car Max for helping me get the Radar Cruise car here to Texas .
I already had parts ordered for the car that was totaled so when they get here I will get busy and get the Victory,Dobinson, and various other parts installed. Pictures to follow. The first addition will of course be the
“I ❤️ My Wife” sticker.
