Anyone here tried buying anything off gumtree (Australia) before? There's an item there I'd really like. I've signed up and all, but not sure of the risks or pitfalls of buying something through it. Wondering if there is any experience here.

Yeah, thats what I gather. Person is willing to ship the item, but there is nothing to stop them from taking my money and running AFAIK. Messaged them and will see how it goes....

Thanks to some help from a good fella in Oz, this is on it's way. Brand new rotary injection pump for my motor. Don't immediately need it, but for $400 I could not resist. Just a matter of time before my factory one needs a rebuild, so why not have a new one ready to go for way less money. Best list price I could find for this pump from Toyota was $3750USD!! Will probably swap it on my motor right away and sell my old pump to recoupe the money.
