Talked to Chuck today, and he is off to the Ultimate Adventure, as we speek. If any one has an extra split t-case, he might need it. this in the only part he does not have a spare of. I am looking for one, in a "just in case scenerio" for him!

Good luck Chuck and have some fun for us!!

I spoke with them yesterday too, they hooked up with that Jeep Honcho out of Denver for the trip down... the Jeep had broken down twice already and they were not even out of Colorado. made it 146 miles in 6 hours. haven't heard anything since :)

Sounds like they may not be trailering there/ wow that's ballsy. Hats off to these guys
Good luck to both of those gents!

The rules of the Ultimate Adventure don't allow trailering. Trailering is for sissies anyway :hillbilly: I drove my 4runner all the way to the Arkansas Ozarks, pulling a pop up camper -- and wheeled the shot out while I was there. Yeah, it cost me a transmission, but it was worth it, and way more fun.... After all, adventure is about the unpredicability of things. As I always say: "nobody remembers the sunshine and rainbows trips, it's the trips that you overcame adversity that everyone talks about around the campfire"

I thought Chuck was trailering the 60 behind his motorhome to get to the start of the event?

Nope, they drove all the way :) That Ultimate F150 is a beast!!! I would love to see that thing work, and see how much power that ecoboost engine really has. Can't wait for the video and pictures!

I guess his plans changed. He was describing his towing plans to us at the last meeting.

Good grief, the Jeep broke down already, don't they screen these guys.

We made it back from Ultimate Adventure 2011

We did trailer to a point that left us with a three hour drive to get to the start and a two hour drive from the end.

We ended up driving a little over 1300 miles in the cruiser. I think we had one day that didn't get into the 100+ degrees. Saturday was 108F on the trail.

We pounded the FJ60 hard and it held up well. The only parts we had to put into it was a rear axle seal, u-joint and a couple of valve stems. Some sheet metal damage on most body panels with the biggest hits to the drivers door (multiple times) and the rear passenger side from the rear door back.

We were up every day at 6am hitting the road and or trails by 8am. We didn't get to a stopping point until after 7pm every night. This was an adventure for sure we toured a cave, cleaned up some tornado damage, checked out a place called humping cadillac, checked out an old railroad tunnel and went to 5 different off road parks in four different states all by back roads and pig trails. I can't wait to see the DVD to see what I missed that was caught on tape as well as see how some of my scenes turn out on the DVD. Should be able to see shots of Pretty Penny sometimes with the front end off the ground, sometimes with the back end off the ground and sometimes with it pretty much on its side. While a couple of rigs lost some glass the FJ60 still has all its glass. I have to hold back on some of the details until they come out in Peterson's Four Wheel and Off Road. I think the DVD is supposed to be out in November.

Very cool - can't wait to see some more pictures from Arkansas!

That door is pretty trashed - does it still open, or do you have to do the dukes of hazard thing :hillbilly:

At the point the picture was taken I thought everything worked just fine turns out the window would not go up all the way so we had to push out the dent some to get it to work.

I need to fix a rear caliper banjo bolt and replace my front leaf springs since one is broken and they both have an S shape to them.

I took a bonus route on one of the steep climbs and got hung up on a tree while Mike was putting a tree saver around the tree the end of the tree saver landed on this. Good thing he saw the copper head snake before he picked up the end of the tree saver.

Sounds like you had a good time. So did the rumors of night time pranks turn out to be true?

The door damage was a result of just shifting sideways against a tree so it was not a hard hit. The door is straight on the inside and eveything still works but the window would not go completely closed so I had to push the dent out some. I have no intentions on removing the trip memory from the door so it will stay the way it is.

I didn't see any big pranks going on. Some water fights but when it's 100+ degrees every day the water fights felt good. Not much time for goofing off when you are on the trail/road for 12 or more hours a day. The evenings had just enough time to eat and get ready for the next day and have a couple of beers then its off to bed.
