Really good deal on a quality high power 12V air compressor: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/TITAN-MAX-AI...t=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item27de56ebfa

Just bought myself one, as I'm tired of pissing around with my Canadian Tire $30 special.

I don't think there is anything else that compares at this price ($145 shipped).

The 'morb' (VI cruiser member) owns one of these compressors, and highly recommended it to me a couple years ago. I've been keeping my eye out for one since.

45A draw? What is the output and duty cycle? Seems like a good price, got to believe it is better than
your other compressor.

Yup, 45Amp draw (3/4hp). 160lpm (5.6cfm @ 0psi), 100% duty cycle.

Worlds better than my current cheap compressor (12Amp draw).

Here are the spec'ed air up times:

AIRING UP TIMES:
32” TIRE – 10PSI TO 32PSI = 1MIN 30SEC
33” TIRE – 10PSI TO 32PSI = 2MIN
35” TIRE – 10PSI TO 32PSI = 2MIN 45SEC
2.5 GALLON AIR TANK – 0PSI TO 125PSI = 1MIN 20SEC

Oh Yeah, and normally these things are around $225-$250+ with shipping....so $145 SHIPPED is a really good deal.

Damn, Ive been looking for a better way to reliably air down/up for a while now. Was considering getting a air tank from princess auto, but this looks much better.

Just gotta figure out how to make this work with this 24v system:bang:

EDIT: could probably wire this up to the Aux battery and run it that way. If we get a bunch of cruiser guys on this, could we do a group buy?

Get a 24v Puma.

Definitely a great option for 24V. Jordan, just do a search on mud, as there are many people into these pumps. They come with a tank too, which can be handy. They have a good reputation. More $ tho.

Sorry to make you type all those specs. My internet didn't load the full page earlier. Times for tire fill are not
too far off from what my Warn compressor puts out. Cool deal.

Here is what JimJ put up on my other air tank thread. http://aircompressors.oasismfg.com/category/air-compressors
They got 24V

Received my Titan compressor. Came Fedex and in good shape. I'm VERY happy with it. It's a serious piece of hardware, and moves a LOT of air. Came with a carry bag and some cheapish but functional accessories. Still HIGHLY recommend this deal. You won't find anything like this for this price any where else.

Wish they did them in 24volt...how long ya think it would last power up on that voltage..:slap:

Yeah, thats hard to say. I may try mine at work on 24V with a big variable DC power supply and see what happens. Could slowly crank it up and monitor current and temperature.

Got my Titan delivered today...two days earlier than expected! Came in bubble wrap and in perfect condition BNIB. Now to decide if a permanent mounting spot is necessary or just use the jumper cable clamps to connect to battery whenever needed...at least that's an easy solution and means I can keep it in the storage bag nice and clean. I may look at mounting a tank somewhere so I can charge that for more capacity when necessary. Oh the possibilities!

Look at maybe wiring up an Anderson plug to the front of your truck, you could use it for boosters as well. Idea, anyhow.

Right on! Yeah, I'm trying to figure out if I should permanently mount mine too, or what. I don't think I'm going to bother with a tank for my needs. What I'd like to get away from though are the battery clamps. Don't want to have to open my hood etc. when doing air up. I'm thinking of just wiring in a heavy duty fused connector to the battery and plugging into that when it's air up time. Will keep the compressor portable in a bag. Lots of options though.

I like Cruiserpilot's anderson plug idea. Just wire it through the front grill and then cut off the battery clamps and wire the other end of the anderson onto that and it's plug and play without opening the hood. And jumper options without opening the hood is brilliant as well. Adding an inline fuse is noteworthy too! Great ideas guys...thanks!

Wired up the Anderson idea today. Bought a 60amp circuit breaker instead of an inline fuse...but haven't installed it yet as I wanted to make sure everything else ran first.

I used two parallel runs of #10 stranded on each leg and the compressor seems to like that easily.

I am concerned about the jumpers though. I did cut the one set of ends off and installed the Anderson, but I'm wondering if the CA's of a jump will blow the 60amp circuit breaker? The compressor's rated at 45amps so I think I'm good there. I'm hoping the circuit breaker will take an inrush current greater than 60amps and only trip after constant overload, offering the ability to turn another vehicle over a few times before popping. This is the only potential weakness I see with this setup. Or maybe CA's and CCA's are different than the amperage loading on a DC breaker? I went the breaker route because I didn't want to be replacing fuses all the time...even though I shouldn't be wiring something that will continually be blowing fuses! Anyways, I digress.

I'll post pics once it's all done and tested and I know it's a permanent solution.

You will need to run a proper battery cable to the Anderson plug if you are using it as a jumper connection.
Anderson plugs come in different sizes re:amperages. This way you don't harm something with too much power
coming through a connection. I'm not sure what you have done, I don't think #10 ga is rated for 60 amps.
My welder uses minimum #8 for 50 amps. For me, I use oversize wire, for the fuse. I'm not sure, but #10
should have 35 amp max.
Thinking out loud, battery cable from battery to Anderson plug. Battery cable for jumpers with battery clamps.
#10 wire on connection from amderson plug dedicated to compressor.
On my truck I have an Anderson off the rear power box, but no fuse/breaker. I have an underhood isolation switch,
but once it is powered the whole system is hot with no fuses. I used 2/0 battery cable throughout.
