It is a drive by wire metal gas pedal and TAC module from an 03 Yukon and it worked very well. It was practically a direct bolt in and then a little fabbing on the pedal itself to get the right location.

"thats one nice cruiser soooo how does it compare power wise to the L6 just makes me smile when i see and hear a V8 60"

The power is great. I'm constantly driving over the steep passes of Colorado and it hasn't had any issues with power... I'm passing people constantly now going up the passes, because I can!

Just got back from a trip to Durango, Co this weekend averaging speeds around 75-80 the entire way and I was getting around 17-18 mpg so I'm pretty stoked about that.

Sounds like the mileage is in line with what you were expecting finally, that's great!

I'll email you and see how the Ouray trip went... we took my 60 to Crested Butte with 5 bikes and a space case on top, 3 people and 1.15 dogs over the weekend. I got like 12mpg...

Also, I did the steam vent line thing from V8 conversion manuals, parts for V8 S10, Datzun Z, Jaguar, Chevy TPI & TBI, Colorado, Astro Van V8, Volvo 200 & 700 and soon after replaced my rear heater lines... I have to say that it was just as hard as it ever was to get the air out of the system even with that vent.

don't know first hand on the 5.3 or 6.0 engines...but when I drain the coolant for whatever reason on my 5.7....I just take the thermostat water neck off and fill the engine there...then replace and top off system. Works the best so far...was having issues with thermostat cycling before....not enough coolant in the system for the thermostat to work properly.

Can any of you give me any insight into mounting my new aluminum radiator? I need to make some kind of strap on the bottom for support. The upper supports I can do. I just can seem to start on this one thing. Call it a mental block. I have a Griffin universal radiator. Thanks.

I don't have any advice to offer on that. My aluminium radiator uses same mounts as stock.

Here are the bottom pads that hold my universal aluminum radiator. It has a "channel" on the bottom that the pads fit into.

A better shot of one from straight above the pad.

And the top pad bolts down to the factory radiator support and holds the radiator in place using the top "channel."

Thanks guys. That helps a lot Jon. It at least gives me an idea of how to mount it at the bottom. I appreciate it.

here is a link

Howe Racing Enterprises - Radiator Mounts

make sure you have some good rubber insulation between radiator and brackets / mount points.

I've seen some other mounts that look similar to a the letter "C"

Thanks Elbert. I have a mounting kit I bought from Summit. It's similar to the one in your link, but I'm going to just have to get creative with the mount.

Just keeping this thread going with changes to my truck as they happen.... this time it's Paint! Still undecided on the pinstriping. I sense a new front bumper is in my future. I'll probably just keep it a stock bumper, so if any of you upgraded to something bigger and don't know what to do with that old one, let me know.

I have one from a 60 in MD that I am willing to part with.

Where are you located? I have a stock chrome bumper (missing end caps and hardware) that is pretty straight. I'm in Boulder,CO. you could have it for free if you are nearby.

Been a while since I've updated this thread with my progress on the ol' goat. There's been tons of camping, lived in a few other states, and eventually stolen from me then found a year later back in 2017.

Most recently had @TRAIL TAILOR throw in a full front and rear coil conversion. First and foremost, from shuttling me to and from the airport on weekends, to the never ending dumb questions I sent them, J & team were amazing to work with and handled my concerns with patience and professionalism. From the get go, as soon as I took it over a few bumps it was clear that this thing would soak up all I could throw at it.

This weekend I finally got to take it out for some light duty wheeling to see how it would do. At flex the rear coils are hitting the upper link mounts some, and the rear driver coil is rubbing on the frame, but I was quite happy with how it performed and the ride was much more pleasant.

Overall, I've been super happy with the product and service from the TT team. Thanks for bringing my DD into the modern age!

Edit - I forgot to mention they made that front bumper as well. I really like how it turned out.

The sliders were from Trail Gear. Bump It Off Road installed them over 10 years ago, so I can't say exactly which ones they were.
